Random thought I had while watching "One Hit Wonders" on VH1...
How did a gifted lyricist like Edie Brickell end up marrying a talentless hack like Paul Simon? I mean, doesn't she scoff at his feeble attempts to write, while she comes up with brilliance like this:

Was 'trying' to say that he was also married to Carrie Fisher, which made Darth Vader his father in law or Jimmy Smits, who was her adopted father in Episode III
That would make Debbie Reynolds his mother in law.....so Richard are you really being dry and sarcastic and saying you like Paul better than Edie or do you really like Edie better? What did happen to her anyway? I notice she disappeared after the marriage????

Michelle--I was being sarcastic. That song I quoted has some of the worst pseudo-profound lyrics ever. It drives me insane.
I almost forgot. According to the show, Edie and the Bohemians weren't really happy together. They never had success except for that one song. They split up, but got together again in 2003 or 2003.
Still, people are avoiding their music in droves...
It's the tone. I can't tell which way he is going in his sarcasm without the tone.
How can you tell when Richard is being sarcastic? His lips are moving!
