We went to the zoo, just after Christmas. We love the Santa Ana Zoo. It's small, just the right size for kids. They have a holiday "Lights at the Zoo" festival every year. I'm finally getting around to posting pics.Here are the 3 suspects. You see the carriage made of lights behind them. The zoo had those kinds of "light sculptures" all over the grounds.

They really put on great programs at the Santa Ana Zoo. We went for their Halloween carnival and the kids loved it...

These are great photos. I went to the zoo here one time. We saw a dead camel, an x-rated situation that I cannot blog about because there are children on your blog, and stared at a swimming pool sized pond that supposedly had a hippo in it. Last year a man jumped into the lion compound and got eaten. I try to stay away from the zoo here.
I'll mark Ukrainian zoos off my list of things to see.
The first time we took Little MacGyver and DisneyGirl to the LA Zoo, he was almost 2, she was about 4 months. We got to see kangaroos performing intimate acts. Then the zoo had to be evacuated because a chimp escaped from her exhibit.
We found out late the chimp and our girl had the same first name. Coincidence? Probably not...
